Filled with glimmer and gleam, this gorgeous gemstone is a pretty color-changing stone, with flashes of violet, teal, and raspberry, set in a halo encrusted mounting of sparkling diamonds, we just love the overall boldness of this piece!
This stone dates back to the 1950s when synthetic corundum was produced to imitate synthetic alexandrite. In the vintage and estate industry, these synthetic corundum (synthetic sapphire) gemstones from this period are almost always referred to as synthetic alexandrite even though they are chemically synthetic corundum. The chemical properties of this stone are synthetic corundum but the trade name is synthetic alexandrite.
