I have purchased many one of a kind items in store and on their Instagram site and get soooo many compliments on the pieces. Prices are very competitive with other estate jewelers and they always, always stand by their products. If something is wrong they make it right. When my mom passed away, she left me some jewelry pieces in sad condition - Market Square brought them back to life and now I have some beautiful pieces to leave to my daughter’s and grand daughters. Also love Market Square Jewelers online “live” sales on Instagram where you can pick up some nifty pieces discounted from the store price.

It was a coincidence that I met Elizabeth, owner of Market Square Jewelers. At the time, I was cleaning out my mothers house and had a significant amount of jewelry, all kinds. I made several trips to the Newburyport location and worked with both Gabriella and Katie there. All of these ladies were kind, knowledgeable, professional and communicative. This jewelry store is a hidden gem, to use a pun. I needed to find a silver necklace and the gentleman who helped me was so helpful in finding the right length for me. I returned several times to get my watch bands sized and they worked hard to try to find the right length for me...It is a bridge between the past when craftsmanship meant something. These are real jewelers. They’re not the ones in the mall trying to sell you something expensive. They are not trying to force you to buy anything. They let you browse and make discoveries on your own... This store is a hidden gem because you’ll find unique affordable gifts in your price range. If you’re ever walking around downtown Dover definitely take a peek inside. They won’t bother you. They let you look. It’s a very pleasant environment and you might find something you really really like!

...where do I start!? I am in love with my custom made ring! A happenstance drew me and my Mom into MSJ in Portsmouth and Gail drew me back in again and again. Both my husband and I are more than impressed with how beautiful this ring turned out! Pictures do not do it justice. The entire process was so exciting and carefully catered to. Market Square Jewelers is literally a gem. I wanted a pinky signet ring with a custom bee engraving. Milena helped me pick out a lovely 10k gold ring, and she advised me on engraving styles. I brought in some images and their engraver Adam provided a mock up. I love the end result. The detail and design is exquisite. It's exactly what I wanted: a unique heirloom quality ring with a one of the kind insignia. What a great place and really great people to work with. I will definitely go back again.

Melinda and the team at Market Square Jewelers truly set the standard for exceptional customer service. My fiancée and I needed wedding bands on short notice after a disappointing interaction with a different jeweler and Market Square saved the day! From the moment we walked through the door, you could tell that Melinda truly cared about our needs and went above and beyond to not only deliver the perfect custom wedding band, but do so ahead of schedule and at an exceptional price. We left feeling like a part of the “family” and will be stopping back in to share pictures of our wedding with Melinda. In my opinion, this is the best jewelry store in Portland! This location boasts a beautiful collection of one-of-a-kind treasures that rotate frequently. Helpful, knowledgeable, and warm customer service even if you come in with a small budget! They also offer engraving services.

Would highly recommend it if you are trying to get custom work done. I had them repurpose a ring that was my grandmothers that couldn’t be resized into earrings. The plans change multiple times due to budgets and personal wants. They were more than happy to price out different designs and even completely different jewelry pieces. Great service and I also purchased a necklace earrings and another ring from this store. Amazing vintage pieces that you can’t find anywhere love this store.

I’ve been shopping at Market Square Jewelers, both Newburyport and Portsmouth, for about 5 years now. Hands down, the most eclectic collection of jewelry in the area!...the service I receive has been consistently impressive. I felt valued when purchasing a $50 pair of earrings and I felt valued when purchasing a $4000 necklace. They respectfully upsell, but I never feel pressured to make a purchase, nor do I feel they’re BS-ing me when they compliment a choice. They love jewelry as much as I do!... They also have a live sale session, and sell pieces live for a good deal. I’ve never seen it but sounds like a good time. Gabriella was especially wonderful while I spent a full 2 hours picking out the just right chain and pendant... In terms of customer relations, here are 3 instances where the service was excellent. I once traded in a considerable amount of jewelry, none of which was particularly valuable and some was likely trash. They took a reasonable amount of time to work through it all. They were gracious, straightforward, and meticulous throughout the process, and not once did they make me feel awkward... All in all, a wonderful jeweler, especially for those with eclectic taste. There’s something there for everyone. Please shop there so they stay in business for the remainder of my life!
