Contemporary Fine Midnight Blue Ceylon Sapphire of Excellent Quality, Engagement Ring in Diamonds and White Gold

This contemporary engagement mounting is lovely, a perfectly balanced and elegant piece that is eye catching and easy to wear. The ring itself is solid, weighty on the hand and structural in profile. The stones are secure - the diamonds inlaid in polished channels, the gorgeous sapphire framed by beautiful split prongs set firmly against the stone.

The stone is from Sri Lanka, also called Old Ceylon. Sri Lanka is the source of the finest sapphire in the world, and this stone is no exception. The color is rich, deep, and velvety without being overly dark. Particularly nice is the cutting, as this stone is a pretty square cushion shape!

As with most of our precious gems, we purchased this stone on location during one of our frequent buying trips.
