Looking to have your engagement ring insured and need appraisal documentation? Purchased something and would like to know its retail replacement value? Inherited a singular item and looking for more details? Need gemological testing on a diamond or colored stone? These are all reasons why a customer may come to us for an Individual Item Insurance Appraisal.
This service provides the client with a formal document outlining the details of an item and its retail replacement value. Simply drop off your item, and we will review it and return it to you with an in-depth analysis of your piece. All individual appraisals include a high quality image of the appraised item. Upon completion the appraisal will be explained in detail and any questions answered.

Have you inherited an estate and need documentation on a multitude of items? Have a large jewelry collection and would like to appraise it as one large lot? Looking for a consultation but would like formal documentation for your records? This may be the service for you.
Customers come to us for this service for a variety of reasons, but the outcome is the same: a formalized “line-item” style document with specific retail replacement values. This document can be used for insurance purposes or for formally settling an estate. It is a more affordable option than an in-depth appraisal service for an individual item.
Unlike the Jewelry Consultation, which is a meeting working directly with a jewelry appraiser, this service is a drop-off service. In order to increase our efficiency and focus on your pieces, we need our full attention on appraising and will not walk clients through the evaluation process. Of course, if you have any questions about the appraisal, we are more than happy to go over the details and evaluation when complete.
Looking for a Jewelry Consultation and a Line Item Appraisal? We are happy to offer a combination of these two services! We can discuss the outcome that best suits your needs when setting up an appointment.
The Line Item Appraisal is a drop-off service at any of our locations. No appointment is necessary.

Inheriting an estate can be overwhelming, but we can help walk you through this process. Sit down with one of our trained jewelry appraisers to go through your jewelry box. We can help identify approximate values or categorize items based on style or time period, heirloom quality or not, or any manner that would be most helpful to you. We can also identify and advise you on items that would be good candidates to sell, items that need repair or restoration, pieces to appraise for insurance purposes, or ways that we can repurpose/recreate pieces for your needs. This service is guided by your needs around the estate. No formal documentation of the items will be recorded, though clients are welcomed to take detailed notes. We will discuss the outcomes you are looking for prior to beginning the consultation to ensure your needs will be met.
Note: For detailed information about colored gemstones, you will need to leave your items with us so they can be reviewed by a certified gemologist.
Upon your request, or a recommendation from our sales staff or jewelry appraisers, a diamond or colored stone can be sent to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) for further gemological analysis. The GIA is the leading gemological grading institute in the world, the founders of the 4Cs, the gold standard for diamond grading, and have leading technology for colored stone and pearl grading.
If your piece is a diamond, the diamond must be removed from the mounting before it is sent to the GIA. Our team of jewelers can unset and reset your diamond for a fee. Colored stones can be sent to the GIA without being unset for gemological analysis. We will consult you in the event you are looking for this service.
GIA diamond appraisals are priced by carat weight or gemological test required. Please contact us for more information and pricing.
No appointment is necessary, simply drop off your item at the store of your choice.
